About

David Huang is a documentary and fiction director/writer, focused on telling visually unique stories focused on subjects and characters from diverse backgrounds. His short documentary, Re-Opening, commissioned by the Asian American Documentary Network, was acquired by the PBS World Channel for upcoming broadcast, and he recently received the inaugural Kyoko Arai Fund award, as well as the HEAR US award for BIPOC directors, funding his narrative short film, Rock Springs, centered on the Wyoming Chinese Rock Springs Massacre of 1885. 

In the past, he has directed and produced content for brands and organizations such as the World Stroke Organization, Current, Coinbase, the United Nations, PBS, Logitech, the Museum of Chinese in America, Highsnobiety, Protect Chinatown, and more. He is a NYU Tisch Film alumni.
